​Our daughter originally went to Maury Magic Riders several years ago and gained confidence on a horse. We took a break for several years as we attended other types of therapies. These worked well but she out grew the particular therapies. We came back to Maury Magic Riders because of my daughters love for horses and the way it motivates her to improve in difficult areas. A top area of concern is speech volume and clarity. The instructors constantly work with my daughter and her volume continues to increase and she loves the program. However, it isn’t only my daughter that benefits from the program. As a parent of a special needs child, while my daughter is in therapy, I assist with another student. It is very self-satisfying to assist other children and watch them gain confidence and improve on tasks during the sessions. It is rewarding to discuss problems, solutions, and ideas with other parents as it gives me ideas to try with my daughter. Although the program is geared at helping the students, I feel it actually helps the entire family.
